If you have already made a booking with us and are seeking directions to Ecolirios lodge, here’s the essential information you need. First, Ecolirios hotel boutique is located approximately one hour and forty minutes from the capital, San Jose. The journey mainly consists of paved roads and highways; however, it is advisable to travel in a 4x4 vehicle for optimal access. The final stretch of the trip involves around 40 minutes of travel on dirt roads; as a result, this enhances your experience as you immerse yourself in the tranquility of the tropical rainforest.

Ecolirios is a boutique concept ecolodge; above all, it was designed to offer a unique connection with nature. From the outset, the establishment has been envisioned as a luxurious hotel situated in a remote, lush tropical forest. As a result, the founders aimed to embody the purest essence of Costa Rica, choosing a location removed from urban civilization and its associated pollution.

Location of Ecolirios.

The lodge is located within the province of Limón, specifically in the canton of Guácimo. Although this may be true, this area may not rank among Costa Rica's most renowned tourist destinations; however, it is experiencing significant growth in tourism due to its proximity to the slopes of the Turrialba volcano. Additionally, given the unique topography and the presence of numerous waterfalls in the vicinity, there has been minimal human intervention, which further enhances the area’s appeal. Consequently, it is not surprising that the hotel is included in the tourist offerings along the Water Route.

From San José to Ecolirios.

The recommended route our clients should take if coming from San José is Route 32, better known as Braulio Carrillo (Zurquí). At first, the journey takes approximately 40 minutes to reach the city of Guápiles. Afterward, you will need to drive to Guácimo, located 13 km from Guápiles. At this point, you will notice that the road to Guácimo is in excellent condition, as a result of it being a newly completed highway. Once you arrive at the bridge over the Guácimo River, you will need to take the first entrance on the right-hand side along a dirt road toward the hotel. At the same time, we recommend using a 4x4 vehicle for a smoother journey. After that, the final stretch takes approximately 30 minutes to reach Hotel Ecolirios, allowing you to gradually immerse yourself in the surrounding rainforest.

It is not recommended to drive in sedan-type vehicles or low vehicles; it is recommended at least a 4x2 vehicle or a 4x4 vehicle due to the unexpected rainfall in the area.

From Tortuguero to Ecolirios.

Suppose you are traveling to Ecolirios Hotel from Tortuguero or La Fortuna. In that case, you will need to drive to the city of Guápiles and then continue toward Guácimo, after that following the same ballast road located at the first entrance on the right-hand side after the bridge over the Guácimo River. Additionally, it is important to note that you will find hotel signage along the route; as a result, your journey will be easier and more straightforward.

From the South Caribbean to Ecolirios.

For clients driving from the South Caribbean from the cities of Puerto Viejo or Cahuita, you must take route 36 to the city of Limón and then take route 32 and drive to the town of Guácimo, where you will make a detour into the city of Guácimo to enter through the ballast road that is located at the first entrance on the right-hand side after the bridge over the Guácimo River.
